New H?fele Connector For Chunkier Furniture

Responding to the current vogue for chunkier furniture and interior fitments, components and accessories giant Hafele have designed a new connecting fitting to join thicker, though lighter weight, honeycomb boards. Although thicker than conventional wood based panels, honeycomb boards are either frameless or lack internal block reinforcement - difficulties in joining the panels securely are therefore self-evidentA prototype of Hafele's new Tab A fitting won a coveted Interzum Award for its screw-in and over-tightening values and its pull-out resistance from lightweight boards without frames or reinforcement blocks. Inexpensive and, say Hafele, very installation friendly, chunkier furniture and panel components fabricated using Tab A fittings are much less expensive to transport. The two part fitting comprises a female 'boss' insert and a male support part, both fixed into position using H?fele's own Varianta HC screws with nylonthread bushes. Varianta screw fixings are available in a range of sizes for use in conjunction with boards of different surface thickness. Two screws secure each part of the Tab A elements. When in position, one part push fits into the other and is secured by a single 180? turn of a connecting screw. As patent holder world wide, the Tab A style of connecting fitting for lightweight honeycomb boards is exclusive to Hafele and their Varianta screw system is also unique to the global furniture fittings and components market leader.Further information: H?fele Ray Fisher, Sales Director, Tel: 01788 542020 E-mail - ray.fisher@hafele.co.ukThis article was submitted by Qube Magazine for this and more visit www.qubeonline.co.uk
